Bidding to transform the UK’s business parks

Welcome to CRM Consultancy, where our aim is to transform industrial and business parks in the UK through Business Improvement Districts (BIDs). As it stands today, just 3 of over 300 BIDs nationwide are for industrial areas and that is a statistic we are eager to change. We drive the entire BID process, from the initial feasibility and consultancy studies all the way through to the ballot stage, management and renewal.

Browse our website to see our latest projects and more about how a successful BID can revolutionise your business park and guarantee its sustainability.

What is a BID?

A BID (Business Improvement District) is a business-led partnership that enables coordinated investment in the management and marketing of a commercial area. Governed by legislation to ensure fairness and transparency, a BID provides additional services to meet changing business need.

Benefits for businesses within the BID zone are wide-ranging, but include:

E
Creating a united voice for business
E
Addressing shared issues such as traffic, security, access…
E
A direct say in what is required for your area
E
Increased staff retention
E
Unlike business rates, BID levy money is ring-fenced for use only in the BID area
E
Business cost reduction
E
Better access to the council, police and other public bodies
E
Sustainable future for all businesses
E
Attraction of further investment in an area through grants and improved marketing

Services

Setting the wheels in motion

A BID process begins by setting out parameters, including putting in place a concept and plan, setting agreed timelines for the BID and creating targets to measure and gauge success moving forward.

Canvassing opinion

The feasibility process of any BID is imperative to its success. CRM Consultancy will work to canvass opinion of businesses within an agreed area (the recommended designated BID zone) to highlight concerns and grow support for the potential BID.

Developing a plan

After the substantial feasibility and consultation period, CRM Consultancy will put together a business plan devised to tackle and implement changes around the agreed improvements highlighted during canvassing.

The all-important ballot

CRM Consultancy will help with the formal creation and management of the ballot, including canvassing for support to ensure businesses come out to vote positively on the business plan on the day of the ballot.

Ongoing consultancy

Once a BID is secured, the hard work really begins. With our experience we remain on hand to offer advice to guide BIDs in how to maintain a sustainable BID and achieve targets over its longevity.

Securing a BID for generations

BIDs are most successful over a sustained period and must go back to a ballot every five years. The renewal process involves similar levels of canvassing to showcase the work already done and present the future business plan.
